Summer 2011: Be your own hero.

What started as a semester motto, has quickly become more of a life motto.
Be your own Hero.

In exactly one week I will be on my way home for the first summer since high school--I am so excited.  I can't wait to go running with Franklin, feed the geese, go to thrift stores, crochet, read, play in the sun, go on picnics, work on all sorts of projects, get my room clean, learn to cook, reconnect with old friends, and prepare to go on a mission for my church.
I know that sometimes having big dreams can lead to disappointments; however, I don't feel this is one of those situations where that caution will apply.  I think life is about making your own memories and making your own happiness.
All of the times I have been rejected, hurt, sad, or have come up short have all made me who I am today and have all helped me learn and grow.
Take a risk.
Live your life.
Learn from your mistakes.
[live and learn]
I am so excited!
I am nervous about the current state of my bed room, and am seriously wondering if my plans for converting it will work out in time.  I have a lot of things to get rid of...
I think painting it and decorating it will be super fun though and will let me use a lot of my time in  avery productive way.
Speaking of which.... I found new inspiration pictures:

If I can actually pull of the plans in my head, this will be the most magical bedroom ever.  I have had bunk beds since I was in grade school, and loved them, hated them, and now love them again--once I realized they are perfect.  I can make the bottom one into a fort, and leave the top one for a book nook.

I've learned a ton about my self and about life these past few years, and I am determined to make this summer a great one!
Look forward to tons of posts and pictures because this is going to be one summer I don't want to forget.

....just one more week.

I feel it is also appropriate to create a list of things to do this summer:

Quote of the Day

Look at you. You’re young. And you’re scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it loud and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now. Do it now. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life is yours. When are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want?”
