Interesting list, here's my take on it:
I once owned
Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill R.E.M. - Green
Alanis Morrissette - JLP
Gorillaz - self titled
good albums.
I also used to listen to or currently listen to
Public Enemy (kinda boring)
Ozomatli (kinda cool)
Lauryn Hill (freakin awesome) System of a Down (sucks)
Wilco (great)
Nirvana (somewhat revolutionary) Tupac (great songs before and after death)
Radiohead (love the 2nd and 3rd albums, and a few songs from the other ones)
Smashing Pumpkins (some amazing songs, some boring albums too)
Rage Against the Machine (one of my favorite bands in high school, first two albums are their best)
Dr. Dre (his influence on hip-hop is probably equal to the influence of the Rolling Stones to rock)

I'd really like to hear more of:
Ryan Adams
Belle and Sebastian
Eels
